Experience Host, Smithfield

At the heart of London, our museum is a meeting place for stories - past, present, and future. We are here to enrich understanding and appreciation of the city and all its people, offering a home where the extraordinary and the everyday collide. From the bustling markets to hidden histories, from riotous invention to quiet reflection, we celebrate London in all its richness and complexity.

As an Experience Host, you'll be at the heart of the visitor experience, helping people feel welcome, comfortable and inspired from the moment they arrive. You'll bring London's stories to life through conversations, support exhibitions, events and immersive experiences, and help visitors explore the Museum with confidence. No two days will be the same, you'll adapt to changing situations, support safe and smooth operations, respond to incidents when needed, and work across different spaces and teams to create memorable experiences for every visitor.

Opportunities like this don't come around often. As one of the first Experience Hosts at London Museum Smithfield, you'll be there from the very beginning, welcoming the first visitors, helping shape how the Museum feels and creating moments that people will remember long after they leave. You'll be part of the team bringing a landmark new museum to life and helping write its first chapter.

You don't need previous museum or customer service experience to be great at this role. We're looking for people with energy, curiosity and a genuine passion for helping others have a brilliant day. You'll be someone who makes people feel welcome quickly, communicates with warmth and confidence, and enjoys meeting people from all walks of life. You think practically, stay calm when things change, and use good judgement to find solutions and keep things running smoothly. Most importantly, you'll bring a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a desire to be part of a team that helps create memorable experiences for every visitor.

For more information about this role, please see the Job Description. We will also be holding information sessions for this role, both in person and online, on 30th July and 31st July.
