Digital Coordinator (Maternity Cover)

The Horniman Museum and Gardens in south east London has been open since Victorian times, when Frederick Horniman first opened his house and extraordinary collection of objects to the local community. Since then, our collection has grown significantly and includes internationally important collections of Anthropology and Musical Instruments, as well as an acclaimed Aquarium, Butterfly House and Natural History Gallery – all surrounded by 16 acres of beautiful Gardens offering breath-taking views across London.

We are looking for a Digital Coordinator to support the creation and distribution of creative, engaging and accurate digital content to support our widening audiences, decolonising and environmental priority objectives. It is an exciting time to join the team as we will be opening new areas in the Gardens and opening a major gallery following extensive renovation during the contract.

You will generate or edit content (written, imagery, video), liaising with colleagues and communities on our curatorial projects, events and exhibitions, and our learning and engagement programmes, as well as coordinate the integration, delivery and evaluation of digital activity to meet corporate and funders’ objectives.

You will be a good digital all-rounder with exceptional knowledge of digital and social media channels, an interest in digital developments and creating content. You’ll love getting stuck in to online cultures. You will have experience of working with content management systems and using a variety of software packages to create different types of content.

The closing date for completed applications is 10am on Monday 2 March. Interviews will be held on Monday 16 March 2026 and applicants will be required to complete a test in advance of the interview. The Horniman is committed to equality of opportunity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
