Conservator - HMS Belfast

Are you passionate about history and skilled in mechanical conservation? Then join the IWM as a Conservator aboard one of London's most iconic attractions on the River Thames - HMS Belfast.

This exciting opportunity allows you to work with a diverse team dedicated to preserving and maintaining the most significant surviving Royal Navy warship from the second world war.

The roles and responsibilities of this Conservator role include:

Overseeing and managing various conservation and restoration projects of the ship, its structure and fittings.
Supervising staff and volunteers, whilst fostering a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
Ensuring health and safety compliance at all times.
Engaging and interacting with visitors to explain the historical significance of the conservation work being undertaken.
Maintaining details records of conservation activities and project progress.
To be considered for this role, you'll need to be qualified to City and Guilds or NVQ 3 in a relevant engineering discipline OR have demonstrable experience of working in mechanical or marine engineering.
