National Collections Centre Coordinator

National Collections Centre Coordinator

Are you organised with experience providing effective administrative support? Do you want to support collections activity and take ownership of small projects at the National Collections Centre?

About us

The National Collections Centre (NCC) is home to one of the world's preeminent collections of science, technology, transport, medicine and media. Following a major strategic initiative to process, digitise, relocate, and rehouse more than 300,000 objects from the Science Museum's store in West London to the NCC, we are entering an exciting new phase of access and engagement.

We are currently recruiting for a National Collections Centre Coordinator to join on a permanent contract, working full-time, 35 hours per week. This role is based at the National Collections Centre in Wroughton, Swindon with hybrid working included.

About the role

As National Collections Centre Coordinator you will support the Collection Services activity on the site. You will be supporting the Head of Collections Management and Collections Services Programme Manager to deliver core collections activity across the site, as well as the delivery of collections projects. You will be highly organised and provide administrative support, diary management, and take the lead on reporting within the wider programme.

This role will involve working with lots of different teams in the exciting and unusual environment of a museum store. You will be working with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders and will get to know how a large national museum group operates. You will also be taking ownership of smaller sub-projects as they arise, leading them from start to finish.

About you

Joining us you will have experience of providing administrative support and diary management. You will have experience of working effectively and collaboratively with others, using your good communication skills to successfully build relationships with various stakeholders.

Crucially, you will be organised with ability to work independently without direct supervision, with good time management, administration, budgeting, and planning skills. You will have good IT literacy across MS Office and have experience of databases and collating and evaluating data to produce reports.
