Videographer (Legacy and In-Memory)

Could you help Derby Museums strengthen its future resilience by creatively engaging its supporters with a heartwarming and supportive product?

The Brief

We are looking for a creative pitch that encapsulates the Derby Museums brand.

We are looking for a film with a positive and warm tone that is heritage focussed and speaks about the impact of leaving a gift for Derby Museums.

Within this commission we would ideally like you to be able to produce a longer version to be used on our website and a shorter version to be shared via our social media channels. The films could include interviews with pledgers, visitors or with members of the Derby Museums team. The video will be designed to inspire supporters to leave a gift in their Will to Derby Museums and encourage conversations about legacy and in-memory giving.

Storyboarding will be done together with our legacy consultants, Legacy Voice.

The Person

We’re looking for a freelance videographer or film maker with a proven track record in creating and delivering engaging content designed to inspire giving. You will be a creative individual with experience in producing impactful messaging that will help us to drive our emerging legacy strategy at Derby Museums.

The role includes but is not limited to:

Storyboard the content with Derby Museums and Legacy Voice to produce a legacy film as part of Derby Museums longer term-strategy to inspire future legacy gifts to help secure a more sustainable future for Derby Museums.

Lead on the creative vision, filming and editing of the film, using the wider legacy messaging being created by Legacy Voice as a framework so it sits within the newly developed messaging being crafted for Derby Museums.

This opportunity is funded by The National lottery Heritage Fund main heritage grants programme and is part of a Derby Museums project called: Derby Museums: Resilience, Relevance and Recovery.

The freelancer/consultant will be supported by our Individual Giving Officer and Director of Development.

Potential candidates must be highly organised with strong communication skills. They must have the confidence to lead projects in a relatively short time frame with the ability to inspire and think creatively. Experience of creating similar content for a heritage or charitable organisation is desirable though not necessary.

We believe that diversity and equality within our workplace, programmes and in our outlook
is crucial. We therefore particularly welcome applications from candidates that are under-represented at Derby Museums and within the heritage sector, including black and minority ethnic candidates and/or candidates with a disability.
