The British Library is seeking a skilled, dedicated Events Production Manager with substantial and diverse events experience gained in multi-space venues, literary or other arts festivals or similar environments. This experience will cover a wide variety of event types, from conferences and spoken word, to concerts and other music events, pop-up activations in temporary locations and hospitality functions.

This is a new position in which the successful candidate will be expected to take British Library events to new levels of quality, creativity and professionalism, enabling the organisation to build and develop its audiences over the coming years, as well as supporting the generation of commercial income.

The role will be based within the Cultural and Corporate Events team, but will work across other British Library departments, including incoming commercial hires and internal events. It will work closely with the in-house technical team, as well commission, and manage all visiting technical production suppliers and contractors, including digital event producers. It will require proven leadership and management skills, with experience of staff and crew management.

Knowledge of the production process and resource/ timescales needed to realise multiple production requirements is essential, as is an exceptional attention to detail, and to safe working practices.

Candidates will be expected to have familiarity with current and incoming developments in event technology including streaming, broadcasting and immersive, enabling the British Library to move with the times. Researching and recommending new technologies to be incorporated into live projects will be required.

Excitingly, the role will also be central to planning the event production infrastructure of two major British Library development projects over the next decade: a new wing with cultural spaces at its St.Pancras, London site as well as the planned British Library North.

Flexible working will be required, with regular evening and some weekend working, especially at busy times of the year. Time off in lieu will be provided.
