Project Collections & Storage Officer (temporary)
We are currently looking to recruit a Project Collections & Storage Officer, for a 2 Year Fixed Term Contract, working at the Temporary Collections Store (Smethwick), who will be responsible for the management of the permanent museum collection decanted from Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery during its period of closure.
You will ideally have worked in a collections management role or will have the aptitude for doing so, which you can clearly evidence from directly relevant skills in other paid or voluntary roles. As such, you will be happy to meticulously deal with large data sets accurately and competently to support you in the use of the electronic collections management system, while also comfortable with using a forklift to load and unload pallet racking with palletised collection items.
You will primarily be based at the Temporary Collections Store, where you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day management and operation of the site, as well as the collection it stores. However, you will have the opportunity, as part of the wider Collections Care department, to work across other sites across BMT.
