Press and Communications Manager (fixed term contract)

About the role

As part of our dynamic communications team, you will manage and co-ordinate engaging communications campaigns for the Museum and our programme of events and exhibitions to raise awareness and engagement, and drive visitor footfall and ticket sales.

The main tasks will be to:

Planning and delivery of engaging media campaigns
Working closely with external PR support on specific exhibition and event campaigns
Managing marketing campaigns for exhibitions and events
Working closely with the rest of the communications team to ensure communications across all channels are aligned
Enhancing and protecting the Museum of the Home brand
Working closely with colleagues across the Museum to respond to reactive media enquiries
Commissioning engaging marketing materials for our visitors
Liaising with communications teams in partner organisations

About you
You will be an experienced communications professional who has managed both proactive media outreach and reactive stories, and with great experience of marketing and communications. You will be a great communicator, who enjoys being part of an enthusiastic and creative team, with a passion for sharing stories and reaching new audiences.

You will be able to show you can:

Create engaging and inspiring content and messages
Manage budgets and schedules
Champion and make the most of the Museum brand

This is a fixed term role for 12 months; it is full-time although we are open to flexible working applications.
