Museum User Researcher (Fixed Term)

This is a new role at Birmingham Museums Trust (BMT), and is key in fostering user research practices. The User Researcher will plan and execute a range of user research tests to support the design, development and improvement of BMT’s services and products.

This role will be based in the Digital team and will also support the wider organisation. They will design, run and analyse quantitative surveys and qualitative research, and effectively communicate research findings to inform decision making. Working the Digital team, and across the wider organisation, they will help to turn user research findings into stories and actions that lead to valuable product and service features.

The User Researcher will be joining the team at a time when we will be developing new digital services, and that includes a new BMT website. They should be passionate about user centred design, and keen to take the opportunity to have a positive impact on the work of BMT.

About You

Relevant degree or experience relating to Usability / HCI / Market Research or a related field
Proven experience of designing, facilitating and analysing a wide range of qualitative and quantitative user research methods.
Demonstrable knowledge, experience in and enthusiasm for user centered design practices.
Proven experience of understanding user needs for digital services
Proven experience of presenting user research findings in a wide variety of formats and contexts.
