The HR department at the British Museum is evolving. We are introducing a business partnering model to enable the provision of strategic and operational HR advice to the leadership and management teams of the British Museum and British Museum Company Ltd.
About the role
Our HR Advisors will report to our new HR Business Partner roles. They will support managers and employees by providing a high-quality, consistent and effective generalist HR advisory service. They will also play a key role in building the capacity of managers and employees to resolve people management issues effectively and professionally.
Key Areas of Responsibility will include:
Being the first point of contact for the provision of HR advice and support to managers and employees, analysing problems and finding solutions to a broad range of issues including:
Recruitment and Selection
Employee Relations casework
Consistent application of policies, processes and procedures
Records and Information Management
Training and Development
As one of our HR Advisors you will be able to demonstrate your experience of working in previous HR roles and you will need to bring strong knowledge and understanding of employment law to the position. You will have management or supervisory skills and be able to demonstrate a commitment to growing your own knowledge and skills and that of others. You will be able to build effective working relationships and to quickly and effectively develop an understanding of the needs of your stakeholders. You will also be able to show evidence of working effectively to processes and deadlines and taking the initiative to make efficiencies and improvements to ways of working.
