Sensitive Artefact Strategy Project Team Leader
Birmingham Museums Trust are implementing a series of targeted collections relocations and other measures in order to safeguard collections from the development work that is going to be carried out adjacent to the Museum Collection Centre. This work will involve some minor work to the building to improve dust-protection, the relocation of externally stored objects, and the relocation and improved protection of targeted areas of the collection stored internally.
Reporting to the Collections Care Manager, you will ensure the delivery of all works associated with the project, ensuring that they are undertaken on time and within the available budget, providing reports on this work as necessary to both internal BMT staff, and to the external developer who is responsible for funding these works.
You will serve as the main contact on-site for the contractor and their associated enabling works contractors, responding to issues and escalating as required and through agreed channels. You will line manage the Project Move Assistant, and appoint and manage all contractors and freelance staff required in support of the delivery of the project.
In order to support the smooth undertaking of work associated with the project, you will support the operation and management of the Museum Collection Centre, ensuring that day-to-day activity does not interrupt the progress of the Sensitive Artefact Strategy.
As this project is responding to an external development, we are anticipating that commencement for this post will be on or around April 1st 2021, and will conclude on December 31st 2021.
