Visitor Experience Supervisor (Maternity cover)

Visitor Experience Supervisor (Maternity cover)
Fixed term (15 months)

Our purpose is to share the story of the Royal Air Force through its people and collections, to engage, inform and inspire our visitors. Our overall vision is to reach, connect and inspire everyone with the RAF story.

The Museum is looking to expand its visitor offer and develop new ways of telling the story of the RAF. We are looking for an experienced Visitor Experience Supervisor to cover a period of maternity leave. You must be a pro-active and customer-focused individual to be part of this exciting change.

The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience, preferably in a Museum or visitor attraction capacity. You should be confident in managing a diverse team in a changing environment where you are looked upon for direction and providing motivation.

You will be leading from the front to ensure every aspect of our visitor journey is enjoyable and safe. You will work with all departments to ensure the balance of visitor experience and collection protection is maintained. You will also manage the team to maximise their potential and engage with our customers.

You will need to be a confident communicator and be able to respond quickly and positively in a changing environment. Being flexible in your outlook is essential as you will be fulfilling a variety of roles at the Museum.
You will be part of a small team of supervisors who manage the Visitor Experience Team and support day to day operations of the whole site.

In addition to the above, we are looking for an individual who can build positive relationships with other teams within the Museum and with Museum partners and seek out commercial opportunities and maintain the current offer.

The post will be based at our Cosford site. This is a full-time position, with regular weekend and bank holiday working. There will be a requirement to work some evenings and occasional overnights as part of this role, so flexibility is essential.
