Across Science Museum Group, our conservation specialists are committed to caring for our unique objects and exhibitions, helping to deliver our group vision of creating a more accessible and sustainable collection.

We are now looking for a Conservator to join us at the National Railway Museum in York on a fixed-term basis for 3.5 months. In this role, you will carry out all aspects of interventive object conservation on a wide range of materials, including condition checking and documentation. Working with a range of colleagues, you’ll participate in safely caring for our collection to ensure it remains accessible and open for all.

Joining us, you will bring experience of conservation and object handling, championing conservation positively and with enthusiasm. You will be able to prioritise your own workload and work diligently to assess and care for our historic objects.
