Senior Archivist (Standards and Workflow)

Archives are the homes for our collective memories, past, present and future. We are the archive of the UK government, a leading national and international archive. Our ambition is to become an inclusive, entrepreneurial and disruptive digital archive, constantly adapting and reshaping archival practice.

Acting as the Managing Editor for our records catalogue you will lead our data management processes and editorial workflows, maintain our descriptive standards and curate collection descriptions for digital archives. Working closely with both records and digital specialists you will provide archival guidance and knowledge to a variety of content enhancement projects (many carried out by volunteers).

This is a great opportunity to play a significant role in shaping archival practice at a time of digital transformation. Join us in beautiful Kew, just 10 minutes' walk from the Overground and Underground stations, and help us shape archival practice. In return, you can expect an excellent Civil Service benefits package that includes a pension, the option to work part time or job share, and opportunities for training and development. We also offer access to the Civil Service sports facilities, wellbeing resources, an on-site gym, a restaurant, shop and staff bar.
