Individual Giving Manager

The Royal Armouries is the United Kingdom’s national museum of arms and armour, and one of the most important museums of its type in the world. The collection is housed in three museums in the UK: its original home, the Tower of London, Fort Nelson, a restored Victorian fort and our purpose-built museum in Leeds.

We are looking for an experienced Individual Giving Manager to lead on visitor giving and philanthropy across all our sites. Although this is a replacement role, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to re-assess the visitor giving and major donor strategies to develop the potential from generating income from individuals at all levels and across all our sites over the next 5 years as well as becoming involved in our ambitious and exciting plans for the future re-development of the museum.

We expect that you will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in a similar role within a fundraising environment. Associated knowledge of individual giving programmes and an understanding of tax-effective giving and data protection are also important. You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal - and highly developed persuading and influencing skills. Experience of organising successful and imaginative events is also essential.

In return, we offer a good benefits package including generous annual leave allowance and the opportunity to work in a fantastic heritage attraction with the chance to travel to the Tower of London and Fort Nelson in Hampshire. You will also be part of an organisation undergoing an exciting period of change and development.

This post is full time working 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 based at Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds. Evening, weekend and Bank Holiday working may be required.

A Police check will be requested in the event of a successful application. Please refer to the job description for the level of check required. A criminal record would not necessarily be a bar to employment.

To apply please visit https://www.cloudonlinerecruitment.co.uk/royalarmouries. Please note you will need to download an application form as directed and upload it via our recruitment system in the space provided. We cannot accept CVs in place of an application form.

Closing date: 2nd September 2019 at 12 noon.
Interviews: 12th & 13th September 2019.
