NMDC staff changes and recruitment 5 Feb 2019

NMDC's Head of Strategy and Communications Suzie Tucker will be leaving at the end of February to take up the post of Director, Cultural Property at Arts Council England.  The role is a temporary one until the end of 2019 to lead ACE’s London-based Cultural Property team while the current Director, Collections and Cultural Property, Scott Furlong, focusses on ACE’s ongoing project to integrate and align museums and cultural property into the wider organisation.

Suzie will be undertaking the post as a secondment, returning to NMDC in January 2020.  From March to December 2019 Kathryn Simpson, NMDC Policy and Projects Manager, will be taking over as NMDC lead contact.

NMDC is also recruiting a new temporary post of Public Affairs Officer to lead on NMDC’s advocacy activity in 2019. This is an exciting opportunity to plan and deliver a persuasive advocacy campaign to make the case for museums in preparation for the anticipated 2019 Comprehensive Spending Review, as well as leading NMDC’s wider public affairs and advocacy activity, seeking opportunities to further NMDC’s aims, influence government policy and advocate for members, and working with a wide network of contacts across NMDC member museums and other sector bodies.

A full job description and details of how to apply can be found on the NMDC jobs website here. For an informal discussion about the role please contact Suzie.
