What It's Like to Work Here

At IWM, we're driven by a shared purpose: helping people understand the impact of conflict and the experiences of those affected by it. The Retail & Admissions department welcomes over 2 million visitors each year across five permanent operations and plays a vital role in generating income, delivering outstanding customer service and acting as an ambassador for the IWM brand and values.

At HMS Belfast, you'll be part of a team welcoming more than 300,000 visitors annually to one of London's most iconic historic attractions. As a Weekend Retail & Admissions Assistant, you'll help deliver excellent visitor experiences during some of our busiest trading periods. Working across the admissions desk and shop, you'll provide information about the ship, support ticket and guidebook sales, promote retail products and ensure visitors receive a warm and professional welcome throughout their visit.

Why This Role Matters

Weekend Retail & Admissions Assistants play an important role in creating positive and memorable visitor experiences at HMS Belfast. Working during peak visitor periods, you'll help ensure our guests receive excellent service while supporting the smooth operation of admissions and retail activities. Through your customer service skills, product knowledge and proactive approach, you'll help visitors engage with the stories of those who served aboard the ship and understand the wider history of the Royal Navy and twentieth-century conflict. You'll also contribute to the commercial success of HMS Belfast by promoting admissions products, guidebooks, memberships, donations and retail sales.
