AV Technician

We’re looking for skilled, creative, and motivated AV professionals that can support the management and development of AV technology across the museum galleries and deliver events at our two sites. The successful candidates will be working on a weekly 5-day rota that will regularly include weekends and evenings.

There are two AV Technician roles available:

• AV Technician (Galleries and Exhibitions): responsible for the audiovisual elements of our permanent galleries, contribute to the installation of temporary exhibitions and displays.
• AV Technician (Events): responsible for supporting the delivery of events for external clients, for internal departments, and for the museum Creative Programme.

Occasionally, both roles will be called upon to support the other in the delivery of their specific responsibilities.

Previous experience of working in a museum is not required and you do not need to have any academic qualifications, although they would definitely be valued elements of your CV, but we are looking for someone who has experience of working in public AV environments like conferences, theatres, cinemas, and similar, and is capable of setting up, maintaining and troubleshoot AV equipment.

For more information about these roles, please read the Job Descriptions. To know more about what it’s like to work in London Museum and to get some top tips on how to make the best of your application visit: https://www.londonmuseum.org.uk/about/careers/

Applications are by application form. The closing date for applications is Sunday 13 September 2026. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview on week commencing 21 September 2026.

If you are successfully shortlisted you will be invited to an interview where you will be asked questions to help us understand more about what you share in your application, and in particular to understand how you meet the essential person specification criteria for the role and demonstrate our museum behaviours. You will also be asked to prepare a digital presentation and complete a short task as part of the selection process.

London Museum is committed to being an equitable and inclusive employer, and to becoming representative of the diversity of London. We particularly welcome applications from people from Global Majority backgrounds, who are currently under-represented in our organisation.

We also welcome applications from disabled people, as we’re a Disability Confident Leader and are committed to recruiting, retaining and developing disabled people.
