The Science Museum Group are here to Inspire Futures. As part of this world-leading group of museums, the Digital Experience team (working within our Public Programme department) are responsible for the development and delivery of the digital and audio-visual interpretation elements and experiences within exhibitions and galleries.
To support the different experiences, we are now recruiting for a Digital Producer to be based at the Science Museum in London on a permanent, full-time basis.
About the role
As Digital Producer, you will be responsible for project managing the creative development of AV and digital experiences at the Science Museum in London.
You will be working with the curatorial and interpretation teams, designers, and contractors to ensure that the digital deliverables are robust, creative, engaging and connect with our diverse audiences.
You will be managing the creative production of AV and digital software within the exhibitions and galleries, managing the installation of the digital exhibits and AV (including hardware) to time and budget, ensuring a high-quality result. You will work collaboratively with content and interpretation teams ensuring stakeholders including the project leader, exhibition team, gallery services are included at key stages.
Your responsibilities will include, where required, managing the specification and procurement of the appropriate hardware for the exhibitions ensuring that museum standards are adhered to and that all purchasing is in line with SMG procurement policies. You will be commissioning digital exhibits, films, audio, and other elements of the digital interpretation, coordinating tenders and managing subsequent contracts.
About you
By joining us, you will bring project management experience across large-scale digital or AV projects, including development, delivery, installation and commissioning for public spaces. You will work effectively with external stakeholders, agencies, contractors, and freelancers, and understand creative digital experiences such as games, passive AV, immersive experiences, mechanical exhibits, and nonstandard interfaces. Experience contributing to exhibition development with architects and designers will also be important.
You will apply a creative mindset, using exhibition content to shape AV and digital experiences that make narratives come alive in clear, engaging, and meaningful ways for audiences.
