Events range from conferences, product launches, dinners, receptions, Christmas parties and private events.
To support the range of events we host, we are seeking an Events Sales and Marketing Executive to join on a permanent, full-time role basis, working 35 hours per week. This role is based at the Science Museum with one day working from home.
About the role
As Events Sales and Marketing Executive, you will take on a diverse role covering a wide range of responsibilities, from promoting the Science Museum to confirming the event. You will be the first point of contact for any new and existing clients wishing to host an event with us. Ultimately this will support the continuous growth of business and will ensure that we have booked our venues to full potential.
You will respond to reactive enquiries via telephone or email and supply the client with a bespoke proposal based on their event brief. You will be supporting identifying and approaching new business opportunities, this will include conducting site visits with the client and contractors.
In this role you will represent the Science Museum at tradeshows and networking events as required. You will account manage your clients to increase repeat bookings whilst ensuring that all financial information relating to events is recorded accurately.
About you
By joining us, you will have experience of sales or customer-facing experience, within the events, hospitality or visitor attraction sectors. Recent graduates with a degree in events management are also encouraged to apply. You will be interested in business development and spotting new opportunities, with effective communication skills and the ability to network and build effective relationships with private and corporate clients at all levels.
Crucially, you will have the ability work collaboratively with others and use your interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders and negotiate to ensure the best outcome for all. You will have good customer service skills and the ability to complete administrative tasks efficiently and with good attention to detail.
