Scottish Bookbindings Project Cataloguer

We’re looking for someone to join our Published Collections team to improve the catalogue descriptions of the Library’s extensive holdings of decorative Scottish bookbindings from approximately 1680-1830. This work will improve access for researchers and lay the groundwork for potential digitisation as you describe the relevant features of these bindings. We’re looking for someone with experience of cataloguing published materials in MARC using a library management system. Experience of working with rare books would be desirable. You will have the ability to work efficiently whilst accurately recording the relevant details of the binding and paying due respect to the preservation requirements of the books handled.
