Digital Collections Manager

Over the past decade, digital collecting has become an increasingly important part of how we build and share our collections. From more than 5,000 hours of oral histories and video diaries created during COVID-19, to films by artists such as Jeremy Deller and Zed Nelson, our digital collections are rich in both historical and creative significance. At the same time, we’re putting greater focus on preserving the museum’s own digital archive through thoughtful strategies and processes.

The Digital Collections Manager is a key role within the Information Resources team. You’ll also work closely with Curatorial colleagues to support the ongoing collection of digital materials across different areas, while ensuring our digital collections and records are well cared for and preserved for the future.

We’re looking for someone with experience of managing digital collections within a museum, archive, or heritage setting. You’ll be confident assessing digital files for long-term preservation and have experience creating both access and archival copies of material. An up-to-date knowledge of current developments in digital preservation, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working with others will be essential.
