Senior Marketing Officer (Schools) - FTC

Can you see yourself helping more schools access inspiring museum experiences? Do you enjoy crafting targeted marketing campaigns that resonate with audiences and support important goals?

About us

At the Science Museum Group (SMG), we inspire futures by encouraging people of all ages to explore and engage with science, technology, engineering and maths through our world-class collections, museums and award-winning exhibitions.

In autumn 2026, we will launch our new Schools Bursary programme, designed to remove barriers and help more schools engage with our museums. High engagement with this programme will play an important role in broadening access to inspiring museum experiences for school audiences.

To support this programme, we are looking for a Senior Marketing Officer (Schools) to join us on a fixed-term basis until August 2028.

This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week, and can be based at any Science Museum Group site with hybrid working available.

There is a regular requirement to be on site at least three days a week, and occasional travel across Science Museum Group locations may be necessary.

About the role

As Senior Marketing Officer (Schools), you will play an integral role in increasing visits from school audiences and deepening engagement with educators.

Working closely with Communications colleagues across SMG, you will support campaigns that raise awareness of our schools offer and encourage teachers to book visits and take part in our programmes. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will help create engaging education newsletters, promote our schools offer through social media, and manage groupwide education memberships that showcase what's on for schools across our museums.

About you

By joining us, you'll bring demonstrable experience of planning, delivering and evaluating multi-channel marketing campaigns, alongside experience of working towards commercial, visitor or footfall targets. You'll have a genuine interest in marketing to schools or education-focused audiences and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues at different sites.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to apply your skills and creativity to help more schools create memorable learning experiences at our museums.

Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
