Do you enjoy bringing together creative, technical and stakeholder teams to make something exceptional?
About us
Founded in 1857 and one of the world's leading science museums, the Science Museum (ScM) aims to inspire visitors with its renowned collections of iconic objects and stories of incredible scientific achievement, reaching over three million visitors a year through award-winning exhibitions, galleries and exciting range of events and programming.
To support this work, we are now looking for a Project Manager (Exhibitions & Galleries) to join on a fixed term basis for 18 months. This will be a full time role based at the Science Museum with hybrid working available.
About the role
As Project Manager (Exhibitions & Galleries), you will lead projects from concept to completion, working with cross-departmental teams to deliver innovative, visitor-focused exhibitions, immersive experiences and commissions.
You will manage your own portfolio of projects with various budgets, ensuring high-quality delivery aligned with the Museum's strategic goals. This includes developing new exhibitions, refreshing galleries, and updating object displays.
Working with stakeholders across the Science Museum Group, as well as creative contractors and design teams, you will coordinate delivery, make informed decisions, and ensure projects are completed on time, on budget and to a high standard.
About you
You will bring experience delivering complex exhibition projects on schedule and to a high standard, as well as the ability to develop ideas and advance projects. You will be comfortable leading cross-disciplinary teams in a creative setting and have experience managing substantial budgets, including accurate reporting, cash flow planning, and meeting spending targets.
As an effective communicator, you will develop productive relationships and apply diplomacy to sustain engagement across project teams. You will be highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while consistently delivering high-quality work to deadline.
Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
