Senior Events Manager

We are here to enrich understanding and appreciation of the city and all its people, offering a home where the extraordinary and the everyday collide. From the bustling markets to hidden histories, from riotous invention to quiet reflection, we celebrate London in all its richness and complexity.

Our Experience & Operations roles are vital to this mission. You’ll be part of a team that ensures every visitor feels welcome, every event runs seamlessly, and every corner of the museum hums with life. Here, Grit and Glitter guide everything we do: the depth, texture, and authenticity of the city’s stories, alongside moments of surprise, delight, and magic. As Senior Events Manager, you’ll help create experiences that are vibrant, inclusive, and unforgettable, shaping how thousands of people encounter London every day.

The Senior Events Manager will oversee both the delivery of outstanding events and the development and growth of a high-performing team of two Event Managers. You will drive operational excellence, ensuring every event is safe, efficient, and delivers an exceptional guest experience. Partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will ensure seamless event execution while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, compliance, and commercial success.

Previous experience of working in a museum is not required and you do not need to have any academic qualifications for this role.

We are looking for some one with significant experience of delivering complex and high-profile unique events within a high profile public facing venue, demonstratable knowledge and experience of embedding excellent health & safety practices into a team and proven experience in effectively leading and developing operational teams, with a focus on fostering a culture of empowerment, coaching, and continuous growth, enabling team members to take ownership and excel in their roles.
