About the role
This is a hands‑on and highly creative role within the Museum's Design & Interpretation Studio, taking projects from concept through to final execution. As Mid‑weight Graphic Designer, you will use your expertise in image‑making, illustration, animation and visual communication to produce contemporary, purposeful work across print, digital, social and spatial channels.
You Will play a key role in rolling out the Museum's new brand identity, act as a brand guardian, and collaborate closely with colleagues in 3D design, exhibition interpretation and other museum teams to deliver state‑of‑the‑art creative experiences
Key areas of responsibility
* Lead and develop creative projects by researching, analysing, generating and iterating ideas, producing high‑quality visual approaches
* Deliver medium‑to‑large design projects on time and within budget, managing all schedules
* Produce and refine design assets for a wide range of formats - including illustration, photography, animation and print.
* Collaborate across internal teams and external partners, including 3D design, exhibition interpretation, marketing, curatorial colleagues, freelancers and suppliers, contributing to high‑quality project delivery.
* Setting of creative and technological standards, with advanced design software skills promoting best‑practice design across the Museum, creating effective and slick illustration and motion design outputs.
About you
We are looking for someone who brings strong creative capability, an exceptional portfolio and proven experience developing high‑quality design across multiple formats. You will be confident working with Adobe CC, illustration, motion and image‑editing tools, and able to present and communicate design solutions with clarity and impact.
We are looking for someone who can manage multiple projects independently, meet deadlines under pressure, and maintain meticulous attention to detail. You will be collaborative, proactive and open; someone who contributes positively to studio culture, builds strong working relationships, and brings energy, curiosity and ambition to your work.
