About the role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven individual to lead the Library’s commercial and cultural partnerships internationally with a focus on China, East Asia and Southeast Asia. This role will lead the development of new international collaborations and innovative, revenue-generating projects that extend the global reach of the Library’s collections and brand.
You will play a central part in shaping and delivering commercial initiatives, from brand licensing and location-based experiences (LBEs) to digital touring exhibitions and special partnerships with regional and international organisations. As the primary lead for our commercial activities in East Asia, you will work closely with teams across the Library to coordinate resources, maintain strong relationships with external partners and ensure that all projects reflect the broader British Library strategy and values.
With a strong commercial mindset, deep understanding of East Asian market and experience operating within the cultural sector, you will bring the insight and creativity needed to expand our international footprint. You will manage income targets, oversee contracts, and guide the team to support high-quality content creation for our global audiences.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the Library’s presence in one of the world’s most dynamic cultural and commercial regions, driving impactful partnerships and creating new avenues for international engagement.
