To support our commitment to providing the best possible visitor experience, we are now looking for a Duty Manager to join our Operations team.
About the role
As a Duty Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of all visitor-facing operations. You will act as the responsible manager on site, providing visible leadership to front of house teams, resolving operational issues, and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of every visitor.
You will work collaboratively with Visitor Experience Managers and wider operational colleagues to deliver exceptional service standards across all areas of the museum. From managing incidents and supporting events to implementing health and safety procedures, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our museum operates efficiently and inclusively.
The working pattern for this role is:
* Week 1: Monday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
* Week 2: Monday, Saturday, Sunday
* Shift times: 9:30 - 17:00
About you
You'll bring experience in managing a customer or visitor-facing team, with a proven ability to motivate and support colleagues to deliver outstanding service. You'll have excellent communication skills, with the initiative to make decisions and remain calm under pressure.
You'll have experience in implementing health and safety procedures and managing incidents in a public environment. A flexible, professional approach and the ability to adapt to changing situations are key to success in this role.
You will also be values-driven, with a genuine passion for contributing to an open, inclusive organisation that welcomes everyone.
It would be great if you also have:
* Experience working in a cultural, visitor attraction, or heritage setting.
* Knowledge of security and counter-terrorism awareness.
* Experience in event management or access awareness training.
