About the role


This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the world’s foremost research libraries and to help shape understanding and access to its rich Latin American collections.


Based within the Eccles Institute for the Americas and Oceania, the postholder will conduct a comprehensive audit of Latin American materials held across the British Library ’highlighting the depth and diversity of these holdings. They will produce a long-form collection guide and contribute to the development of the Latin American pages of the Eccles Institute website, ensuring that the Library’s resources are visible and accessible to researchers, students, and the wider public.


Working closely with the Lead Curator of Latin American Collections, the postholder will also identify areas of special interest for research collaboration and public engagement. They will also play a key role in building relationships with Latin American communities in the UK,


We’re looking for someone with a demonstrable interest in Latin American Studies (or a related discipline) and experience of working with collections in a library, museum, or cultural institution. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and time-management skills, be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, and have demonstrable experience engaging with diverse audiences. Fluency in Spanish is a requirement of this role and may be tested at interview.
