Retail Team Leader

Would you enjoy directing a team that aims to enhance the customer service experience?

About us

Science Museum Group is here to inspire futures. We aim to grow visitors' science capital and deepen engagement with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM).

Our Retail Team at the Science Museum Group plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our retail facilities. To enhance this team, we are seeking a Retail Team Leader to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a special opportunity to contribute to an encouraging retail environment, where you will assist in providing a meaningful experience for both customers and team members daily.

About the role

As Retail Team Leader, you will support the Retail Manager by leading and inspiring the sales team in the day-to-day running of our Museum Stores. You will prioritize exemplary customer experiences, elevate sales effectiveness, and aid in revenue development. With an emphasis on visual merchandising, you will ensure that our retail locations are maintained to the highest standards, contributing to a captivating and memorable experience for all visitors.

About you

By joining us, you'll bring effective communication skills and a good understanding of how to motivate, support, and develop individuals and teams.

You will bring extensive sales experience and find comfort in pursuing objectives, while employing a forward-thinking attitude to elevate outcomes. Your skilled approach to visual merchandising will aid in preserving presentation standards that reflect the one-of-a-kind nature of our museum retail spaces.

You will understand retail essentials well and show the ability to navigate different circumstances, whether finding solutions on the sales floor or helping your colleagues handle customer interactions with poise and sensitivity.

You'll thrive working as part of a diverse team and be able to build positive, effective working relationships with colleagues across the organisation.

Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
