About the role:

The British Museum is expanding its EHS (Environment Health and Safety) initiatives and is looking to hire a dedicated fire safety programme manager to support the Senior Fire Safety Manager in the development of the Fire-safety Prioritised Improvement Programme (FPIP).

Key areas of responsibility:

* To lead on the scoping of Wave 1 of Phase One of the FPIP programme, an improvement initiative framed around the themes of fire prevention, protection and response, to enable the wider FPIP delivery and integration with existing BM processes and practices
* To identify the detailed components of the three project workstreams, through analysis of existing practices and information, and engagement with stakeholders
* To identify project resources required to deliver the associated programmes, and develop project papers for approval
* To report into relevant governance groups in relation to programme progression
* To be a source of specialist fire safety expertise to ensure the programme will deliver improvements in line with fire safety best practice.

About you:

Experienced in delivering improvements in fire safety applications and training, the postholder will be knowledgeable in and must hold fire-safety related qualifications. Able to review and prioritise multiple activities and workstreams and develop effective programme and project outlines. A working knowledge of Building Regulations and fire safety legislation is key.

To assist with programme development, the postholder will have excellent stakeholder engagement and report writing skills.
