International Skills Exchange and Governance Coordinator

Location: St Pancras
Contract: Fixed Term for 18 months
Hours: Full time (36 hours)
Grade: C
Salary: £28,119 per annum

About the role
The British Library's International Team is seeking an International Skills Exchange and Governance Coordinator to support our international skills exchange projects and coordinate the day-to-day activities relating to the governance of the international office strategy.

About the International Team
Over the past 8 years, the British Library’s International Office has worked with partners around the world to advance knowledge and mutual understanding in a spirit of mutually beneficial reciprocity. This work includes multiple collaborations, projects and relationships to deliver skills and knowledge exchanges with international partners. You can find more information about our work via our website: https://www.bl.uk/about/international.

We will consider candidates who would prefer a job share.

You will act as a focal point of co-ordination for international skills exchange activities run through the International Office, both at the British Library and at partner organisations in the UK and abroad. You will coordinate a number of annual special events with international networks, such as seminars, webinars and conferences.

You will also provide high quality administrative and co-ordination services for the International Strategy group and regional programme boards, and manage all organisation and correspondence in relation to these.

You will report to the Head of the International Office and will be part of a small team of people who are passionate about international relationships and cultural heritage, and who can develop and implement impactful international projects.

So, if you want to make a meaningful impact, creating skills and knowledge exchanges that support libraries and archives across the world, we want to hear from you!

About you
We are looking for a proactive, highly organised candidate, with diplomatic skills. Crucial to this role will be your ability to connect with people, to think on your feet and to work with a variety of people both internally and with international partners. Organisation will come naturally to you and you will be adept at juggling multiple projects. You will also have good experience in minute-and note taking, as well as writing well-structured documentation, such as briefing papers. We are particularly keen to hear from people with a good experience of communicating across different cultures and good understanding of diversity.
