Social Media Producer (Video)

IWM has recently created and committed to carrying out a new Digital Content Strategy (DCS) with ambitious targets around user experience, audience development and financial sustainability. This includes plans to build on IWM’s recent success on social media to deliver larger audience sizes and cover new topic areas targeting different audiences.

As Social Media Producer (Video) you will be part of the Social Media Team, working closely with the wider Digital Content Team and teams across IWM. You will be responsible for producing engaging short-form video content tailored for IWM’s social media channels, showcasing the dynamic experiences IWM offers to its visitors, as well as the changing faces of IWM sites. The role will require you to lead on planning, filming, editing, presenting and posting high quality video content, helping to shape channel strategies for TikTok and Instagram.

The role will require you to track the performance of content to help us better understand audience engagement, identifying trends and making data-driven recommendations to optimise future content.

The role will be based at IWM London for a minimum of 1-day per week, with travel to and liaison with other IWM branches expected.

Your duties will include:

Content Creation

Plan, film and edit short-form video content for IWM’s social media channels, including, but not limited to, capturing in-branch activities, events, and behind-the-scenes moments, with a focus on TikTok and Instagram. Your content will provide an engaging visual narrative of our in-branch events and activities, effectively showcasing the dynamic experiences IWM offers to its visitors. This content will be aligned with our digital strategy and tailored to resonate with IWM’s key target audiences.
Collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the exhibitions, collections, customer experience, learning and engagement, and commercial teams within IWM to develop a short-form video content plan that supports and leverages IWM’s public programme, ensuring the integration of a digital dimension from the outset in all activities.

Content Management

Manage the scheduling and publication of video content across IWM's social media platforms, ensuring timely and strategic distribution which maximises audience engagement and reach.
Monitor the performance of published video content using analytics and key metrics to evaluate audience engagement and reach. Use these insights to optimise future content, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with IWM’s digital strategy and audience growth goals.

Team Support

Be an ambassador for Digital Engagement’s work throughout IWM, from senior management to teams in other areas of the organisation and encourage close collaboration between departments.
Coordinate work with other teams with a digital remit, including Marketing, Communications, Commercial and Public Engagement, to promote sharing of resources and assets.
Act as a point of contact between the Digital Engagement team and IWM at large, maintaining and advising on standards of quality required for website publication and maintenance.
Work closely with other team members to ensure content is published in line with project deadlines and commitments.
