Hours: Varied - 22 hours per week in winter, 24 hours per week in summer, 32 hours per week during school holidays
Contract: Part-time, Permanent

Black Country Living Museum is seeking an Admissions Supervisor to support the daily operation of the Visitor Welcome area. The successful candidate will lead by example, ensuring the admissions team delivers outstanding service and upholds the highest standards of hospitality and professionalism.

What will you be doing?

• Supervising the daily operation of the Visitor Welcome & Admissions area.
• Leading and motivating a team of up to 15 staff members per shift.
• Delivering team briefings and setting performance targets.
• Supporting and coaching team members to provide excellent customer service.
• Responding to visitor queries and resolving complaints professionally.
• Assisting with staff recruitment, training, and appraisals.
• Managing queue flow and adapting staffing levels to visitor numbers.
• Promoting sales techniques to meet financial targets (donations, memberships, etc.).
• Coordinating stock levels, orders, and deliveries.
• Ensuring adherence to uniform, GDPR, health & safety, and cash handling policies.
• Collaborating with other departments to enhance the visitor experience.
• Completing opening and closing procedures and reporting incidents when required.

What are we looking for?

• Proven front-of-house or supervisory experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of service and sales.
• Experience managing and coaching teams to meet performance goals.
• Excellent communication skills and commitment to high-quality customer service.
• Competence with Microsoft Office and CRM/point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to manage staffing and revenue budgets effectively.
• Proactive, confident, and able to use initiative in a dynamic environment.
• Current first-aid certificate or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable
• Experience with ticket booking systems and accredited customer service training.
• Experience of ordering and staff management in a fast-moving environment.
