This position is essential in safeguarding their historical integrity, ensuring future generations can experience and enjoy them.

Responsibilities:

As an Apprentice Conservation Technician (Engineering), you'll take part in an in-house training programme alongside a formal apprenticeship with an external provider. This will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to begin a career in conservation.

Training will include learning how to:

- Use equipment in a way that complies with Health and Safety requirements
- Research historic objects to ensure accurate and appropriate conservation
- Accurately recording all work carried out on projects

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of mechanical engineering and either hold a current, valid, clean driving licence, or be in the process of gaining one (a 6-month grace period will be allowed). You'll be expected to drive museum vehicles as part of the role.
