We are recruiting for an Events Manager based at the National Railway Museum in York. This dynamic role will include a wide range of responsibilities, from sales support through to planning and operations. The Events Manager will be the second point of contact for any new and existing clients wishing to host an event with us, so enthusiasm and passion for the museum and events industry is key. This role will be based at the National Railway Museum in York but will also cover the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford and Locomotion in Shildon, County Durham.
You will organise all aspects of allocated events in the museums whilst developing and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, including the in-house caterers. You will conduct site visits with clients, finalising details for events and upselling where possible. Events will range from conferences, product launches, dinners, receptions, Christmas parties and possibly private events.
Joining us you will have experience of operational event management and a knowledge of working in large, multi-use venues. You will combine your understanding and knowledge of the events market with proven customer service skills to ensure clients receive an excellent level of service throughout. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to network confidently and work with private and corporate clients on all levels.
