Conservator (Stevenage)

Building on the Museum’s success, we are looking for enthusiastic people to join our team. Our mission is to tell the story of Our Army and the people who have served in it; to inspire, engage and educate, though our World Class Museum and Collections. We are driving this work through new and improved exhibitions, world class audience engagement activity and a strong digital offer.

We are currently recruiting into new roles that will support activity around our un-rivalled collections. The Museum’s collections comprise a wide range of items from Fine Art, Silver, Costume & Textiles and a huge variety of other two and three-dimensional artefacts.

This role will be responsible for supporting the exhibitions programme with conservation and care of textiles items for display and storage. This will be guided by Conservation, professional ethics and national and international museum standards.

A recognised conservation qualification in a specialist area is essential, as is a willingness to keep up to date with the latest collections care practices and build expertise through research and formal training.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 24th February 2021.
