Museum and Housekeeping Assistant
The Natural History Museum at Tring was once the personal collection of Lionel Walter, the second Lord Rothschild. Upon Lord Rothschild’s death in 1937, the Museum and his collections were presented to the Nation to become part of the Natural History Museum.
We are looking for a Museum and Housekeeping Assistant to deliver a great service for our visitors. You will provide a clean and safe environment for both staff and visitors to the Museum, and ensure that the site is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. This will also include carrying out portering duties; exhibition refurbishment and non-specialist maintenance tasks.
You will have a flexible approach to work which will help you respond to, and ensure a friendly, helpful and pro-active service for both staff and visitors. As a result, you will bring with you experience of working in a customer facing environment with an understanding of what constitutes excellent customer service. It will be essential for you to have a background in commercial cleaning, minor maintenance and portering, as well as working effectively as part of a team. You will also possess a good understanding of Health & Safety regulations, COSHH and environmental issues.
Please note that this position is based in our Museum in Tring, Hertfordshire.
