Curatorial Assistant

The Royal Armouries, the United Kingdom’s national museum of arms and armour, is seeking two new members of the Curatorial Department, part of the Collections Directorate.

Your main duties will be assisting in the day to day management of the collections including cataloguing, providing collections access, and assisting with enquiries and exhibitions work.

The ideal candidate will have a proven interest in arms and armour. They will be an excellent team player who is hard working, open, thorough, adaptable and engaging. They will be educated to at least degree level.

Applicants are asked to specify their preferred curatorial team (either Edged Weapons, Armour & Oriental Collections, or Firearms & Artillery). Preference will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.

This post will be based at Royal Armouries Leeds, but working at other Royal Armouries sites will be required.

This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. Weekend, Bank Holiday and evening working will occasionally be required.
