Tim Cooke
Chief Executive - National Museums Northern Ireland
Tim Cooke has been Chief Executive of the National Museums Northern Ireland since September 2003. Previously he was Head of Broadcasting for BBC Northern Ireland where he was responsible for programme commissioning, scheduling and running the output of BBC ONE NI, BBC TWO NI and BBC Radio Ulster. He spent 5 years in charge of the BBC's Newsgathering Operation in Northern Ireland and has also worked for BBC World TV in London and BBC South West in Plymouth. In 1998 he was a Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, USA, and in 1991 was a BBC World Service Onassis Fellow in Jerusalem.
National Museums Northern Ireland comprises the Ulster Museum in Belfast, the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum at Cultra, the Ulster-American Folk Park near Omagh, and Armagh County Museum. National Museums Northern Ireland also has oversight of the W5 Science Centre in Belfast.
