STEAM Learning Developer (4.5 year contract)

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to help shape the future direction of the Museum’s formal learning provision. You will be involved in building and developing a new programme of STEAM themed activities and events linked to the Museum’s new development project, BCLM: Forging Ahead.
We are seeking a candidate who has a degree level qualification in a STEAM subject and a minimum of 2 years’ experience of organising and delivering STEAM learning in a school, museum or other learning environment. As well as your passion for the STEAM subjects, you will have a creative flair for developing and delivering inspiring and memorable learning programmes, and an engaging communication style appropriate for different age ranges. In addition to developing and delivering learning activities to children and young people, you will also prepare and deliver CPD training to Museum staff and teachers.
As part of the role you will be expected to undertake research into the scientific and manufacturing heritage of the region and investigate current best practice in STEAM provision at other related heritage organisations - locally, nationally and internationally. You will also have strong interpersonal skills, work collaboratively within and across different teams, be self-motivated and have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
