Senior Finance Business Partner

The British Library is embarking on a period of exciting transformation, with high profile capital projects, ambitious digital programmes and initiatives to grow and diversify our income and audience. We are looking for a senior finance business partner (CCAB qualified or for internal candidates only qualified by experience) to put finance at the heart of decision making, providing advice and support to stakeholders on strategic and operational decisions. This will include oversight, guidance and challenge to senior officers and programme managers, as well as input and expert advice on business cases.


The role will ensure the business understands and delivers against risk management, finance policies and performance KPIs through agreed change initiatives and operational areas.


You will have proven finance business partner experience and capability in working with senior leaders across the organisation, providing leadership from a finance perspective. You will be able to demonstrate good leadership and management skills, balancing a proactive and agile approach to prioritisation through a highly motivated team.


You will have the ability to interpret financial and performance information in layman’s terms as a basis for advising management and recommending courses of action, including the ability to translate the numbers into a business story. As well as an innovative and proactive approach to exploiting change opportunities and promoting best practice.
