About the role
The British Library organises a vibrant programme of temporary and permanent gallery exhibitions ranging from Beyond the Bassline: 500 years of Black British Music to Anglo Saxons and Paddington. With our bold strategic vision and ambitious future plans there couldn’t be a better time to join our team.
The successful candidate will have experience of organising temporary exhibitions within the cultural sector. This includes experience managing exhibition design and build, working with internal interpretation, curatorial, loans and conservation teams and external design, build and AV contractors. You will have a thorough understanding of the display and handling of a wide range of objects - especially library material and a thorough understanding of lending and borrowing.
You will combine strong organisation skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and possess excellent written and oral communications skills. This role will have line management responsibility for our Exhibition coordinators.
